Whether you are arriving by Rhaetian Railway (RhB) from Chur or Disentis or by car, all the cultural venues in Trun are just a few minutes’ walk from the train station or the parking lots.

Walk-in sculpture OGNA

Designed by local artist Matias Spescha (1925-2008) and completed in 2013, the monumental sculpture invites you to marvel and ponder.

The concrete structure is known for its exceptional acoustics. Concerts and performances take place during the summer months at OGNA. Please consult our calendar for specific events.

Spazi d’art Matias Spescha

Seasonal exhibitions take place at the light-flooded, 1000 square meters large hall of the former Truns textile factory. They show works from the estate of the artist Matias Spescha and foster a dialog with contemporary artists.

Casa Carigiet

The birthplace of the famous artist brothers Alois and Zarli Carigiet is currently under renovation and is not open to the public. Following a devastating fire in 2019, the Baroque building was saved and is gradually being transformed into a cultural center. A section of the building will be opened to the public for the first time in summer 2025 with an inaugural exhibition of unknown works by Alois Carigiet.

Casa Desax

The beautiful, centrally located Rococo villa – between Casa Carigiet and Spazi Spescha – is part of the Trun Cultura Ensemble. The heritage building is being renovated and will complement the viallage’s cultural life as a literary center and as a guest house.

Art Attractions

Museum Sursilvan Cuort Ligia Grischa

The former court of the Grey League is one of the most beautiful and historically striking Baroque era buildings in the region, built in 1679 by the Disentis Abbey at the western entrance to the village. The coat of arms hall is the heart of the building.

Art plays an important role in the present-day museum. The permanent exhibition includes original works by the most prominent artists originating from Trun. Contemporary artists from the region are featured in temporary exhibitions.

Scala Trun

A place for all art and music lovers in a large hall of the former textile factory. The space is an artistic initiative by sculptor Gianin Conrad and opera soprano Quirina Lechmann.
They regularly open their studio to artist friends for exhibitions, concerts and performances.

Sculpture Trail along the Rhine River

Regional, national and international artists are represented with their sculptures on the trail along the young Rhine river. Enjoy a walk through the nature reserve in combination with a visit to the walk-in sculpture OGNA.

Location
Start at the camping site, Via Ogna. The trail stretches about 1.5 km westward, ending at Casa Carigiet / at the Museum Sursilvan.

Casa Tödi

The historic patrician house Casa Tödi, a stately Baroque building, invites you to enjoy culinary delights in its award-winning restaurant. The ideal place to round off your cultural visit to Trun with a culinary treat. On days of exhibition openings and special events, the restaurant offers a pre-culture lunch especially for our visitors! Please note the indications in our event calendar.

Camping / Campadi Trun

In the middle of a picturesque alder forest, directly on the banks of the young Rhine, this is a great place to camp. Relax in the peaceful ambience and enjoy regional specialties in the Ogna restaurant. An ideal starting point for sports and cultural excursions.
