At its founding meeting on 16 January 2020, the Trun Cultura Board of Directors commissioned a specialist committee to examine the feasibility of a cultural center with national appeal in Trun. There were two prerequisites for this endeavor:

The “genius loci” with the popular artist brothers Alois and Zarli Carigiet as well as the well-known artist Matias Spescha and other important cultural figures should serve as a content-related starting point for a contemporary artistic examination of current topics.

In addition, the sponsors were offered three buildings in Trun worthy of preservation as venues for such a center: the ruins of the house where Alois and Zarli Carigiet were born, the Casa Desax, which is a national monument, and parts of the former cloth factory.
