BACK IN TRUN – BACK HOME

“Basically, the highest level of art would be reached if, when I leave, my work remained where I was.” (Matias Spescha, 2006)

Matias Spescha’s cherished wish, expressed two years before his death, is now fully realized: After the realization of his pet project, the monumental open-air sculpture OGNA, which was posthumously unveiled near the banks of the Rhine in Trun in 2013, exactly 10 years later, his complete works, in the form of his artistic legacy, are now finding a home in the artist’s hometown. A spacious, light-filled exhibition hall is being prepared for this purpose in the former cloth factory.

The inaugural exhibition of SPAZI SPESCHA will showcase Matias Spescha (1925–2008) in a way never before seen in Switzerland.
